June 1992 Seeded for the first time at a Grandslam (#13),  made the fourth round of the French Open before losing to her teenage rival Jennifer Capriatti.Led 3-1 in the first set,but lost 6-4,6-3. Decided to skip Wimbledon.

July 1992 Returned to action at Palermo, where she had to deal with the pressure of being the top seed and defending champion. Unfazed by all this, Mary cruised to victory collecting her second title of the year. Defeated Brenda Schultz 6-1,6-7,6-1 in the finals.

August 1992 Represented France at the Barcelona Olympics. Lost to Yayuk Basuki in the second round after leading 3-1 in the third set.Wasted 5 match points in the third set to lose 0-6,6-3,10-8.
