After a somewhat dissapointing start, turned her year around in July,by winning her third career title in Palermo beating Sandra Cecchini 6-0,6-3 in the final. Did not drop a set throughout the week. Later teamed up with Petra Langerova to win the doubles as well. Entered the world's top 50 for the first time after the tournament.

Made a successful Fed Cup debut against Ljudmila Pvlov of Yugoslavia with a 6-0,6-1 victory.
