May 1990

After winning her first 9 matches in 1990 (at challenger events Futures/New Braunfels, TX-USA and USA MI Midland),made a successful Grandslam debut at the French Open beating Bettina Fulco-Villilla 6-0,6-1 in just 45 minutes. Lost to the more experienced Mary Joe Fernandez in the following round.

July 1990

 Reached her first final outside the U.S. at a clay court event in Italy. Lost to Bartos in 3 sets after being up a set and a break.

August 1990

Entered the U.S. Open Qualifying rounds. Won 2 matches, but lost a very close match to Farley 1-6,6-3,4-6.

Ended the year ranked 106th in the world.
