Teamed up with Cedric Pioline to lead France into the country's first Hopman Cup final. After Mary had beaten Karina Habsudova to give France a 1-0 lead, the Slovaks won the next 2 matches to clinch the title.

 Mary proved to be the star player of the event, winning all her matches. She beat Anke Huber, Amanda Coetzer, Chanda Rubin and Habsudova during the tounament.
